So... we decided to do the goofy touristy thing at least once on our Honeymoon, and we scheduled a tour with these folks. We ended up choosing "the Grand Circle Island Tour with Kualoa Ranch & Dole Pineapple Plantation" tour.

I was honestly skeptical about it because neither my wife nor I are "bus tour" kinda people. We're the "cruise the island on our own and go where the locals go" kinda people.

Well, I was wrong in my skepticism... at least this time.

We got on the bus and we were greeted by our driver/guide... Keau (kay-ow). From the moment we got on the bus, until the time we ended the tour back at our hotel 10 hours later ("a ten hour tour" plays in the background to the tune of the Gilligan's Island theme song), Keau had us smiling, laughing, and having a great time. He was informative, personable, and HILARIOUS.

He mentioned he's been with the company for 24 years. Well, I can see why. He's excellent at his job. You can tell he loves it, and after getting to know the guy, if he's worked at a company for 24 years, I know it's got to be a great company to deal with. So I feel even better about doing the tour with them instead of one of the many other tour companies on the Island (one of whom, we dealt with and did not have the same pleasant experience).

It was seriously one of the highlights of our trip to Hawaii and we're thankful we did the tour. You will be too.
