The Island Tour was a long day but was perfect. We travelled all the way upto the North shore , stopping at Hnauma Bay , Blow Hole , Buddist Temple , Pali Lookout, Kualoa Ranch , macadamia place , Sunset Beach and Dole plantation. The views and locations were second to none. Also , our guide Garfield was one of the nicest guys you could meet who made the trip even more interesting. Highly recommended. The 2nd trip to Pearl Harbor , Punchbowl and Honolulu was also very good but not as long as the Island trip. again the guide , Ginsen was Fab. |
, located just north of downtown Honolulu. In ancient times Punchbowl was used as a site for human sacrifices, and pū-o-waina means hill of placing (human sacrifices). In February 1948 Congress approved funding and construction began on the national cemetery. Since the cemetery was dedicated on September 2, 1949, 34,000 veterans of World War I, World War II, the Korean, and Vietnam wars have been interred. The cemetery is now full and a new veterans cemetery has been built and dedicated on the windward side of Oahu at Kāneohe. Prior to the opening of the cemetery for the recently deceased, the remains of soldiers from locations around the Pacific Theater—including Guam, Wake Island, and Japanese POW camps—were transported to Hawaii for final interment. The first interment was made January 4, 1949. The cemetery opened to the public on July 19, 1949, with services for five war dead: an unknown serviceman, two Marines, an Army lieutenant and one civilian—noted war correspondent Ernie Pyle.')){kind=small}

I would just like to give a big shout out and thank you to 'Bud' our excellent driver and tour guide on our Polynesian Adventure Tour of the USS Missouri, Arizona Memorial and Punchbowl Cemetery on 28th Dec 2007. It was the absolute highlight of our trip to Hawaii, to go to Peal Harbor and I don't think we could of had a better tour guide and host than 'Bud'. Bud kept us entertained and looked after us superbly and we felt very relaxed the whole day and made sure we knew where to be when, with pleanty of time to do our own thing. We will surly be recommending this Polynesian Adventure tour to Anyone we know visiting Hawaii. We had a very enjoyable day and we will remember the experience for a very long time. For us the Arizona memorial was a very sobering reminder of the sacrifices made during the 2nd world war, and it was a very emotional trip out to the memorial. What a FANTASTIC tour - we actually did two Poly Ad /Grayline tours and also used you for a airport shuttle pick up. Flawless. All of our expectations were exceeded. The drivers/guides were very informative and funny. I gleaned so much that I was the source for information for others that were attending our conference. This was the perfect way to see Oahu. I'm in the travel research business and I grade tough. You scored 10 out of 10 by me and my wife. We're not sure how or if it could have been better.
